Filtration Technology Corporation (FTC) is proud to announce that Dr. Ashish Bandekar was named the recipient of the 2019 Young Scientist Award at the annual conference of the American Filtration & Separations Society (AFS). AFS Chair Thomas Ramsey presented the 2019 Young Scientist Award to Dr. Bandekar at the Annual Technical Conference & Expo held this year in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
Each year, AFS selects one distinguished industry professional to receive this award, and at the April 2 AFS Awards Luncheon, Dr. Bandekar’s work in research and development at FTC was recognized. Pictured here are: Chris Wallas, Ashish Bandekar, and Dr. Hari Nemmara.

Dr. Ashish Bandekar completed his PhD in Chemical and Bio-molecular Engineering from the University of Akron. He currently works with FTC as a R&D Engineer. He has worked in the areas of filtration, electro-wetting, and coalescence. He has a patent for his work on Electro-wet coalescer in liquid/liquid filtration applications, and he has published research papers in multiple journals. Bandekar has been an active member of AFS since 2013 and is currently a member of the Publication and Chapter Affairs Committees for AFS.
